Best Route To Travel To Campus
Fans planning to attend Saturday's game are advised to enter campus through the south-most entrances and avoid the areas directly around the stadium. Fans who have reserved parking passes issued by Texas Tech Athletics should follow the printed directions on the back of each parking pass.
Parking
Parking lots in and around Jones SBC Stadium are on a reserved basis only and you must have a parking pass issued by Texas Tech Athletics to park in those lots. Free parking will be available in the lots just west of the United Spirit Arena and Citibus will provide shuttle service to Jones SBC Stadium for $2 per-person. Parking lots located at businesses around the stadium are subject to the parking rules of each individual business. Dorm parking lots are not available as they are reserved on a 24-hour basis for the residents in each of the those buildings.
Ticket Sales and Will Call
Tickets for the Mississippi game are still available by calling the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office at (806)742-TECH. The ticket office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets can be purchased 24 hours a day via the internet at www.texastech.com. Fans who have requested their tickets be left for pickup at Will Call on Saturday or who purchase their tickets beginning on Tuesday need to be advised that Will Call will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. General Will Call is located in the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office (North End of Jones SBC Stadium). FANS ARE ADVISED TO PICK UP WILL CALL TICKETS EARLY AS LINES GET VERY LONG AS KICKOFF APPROACHES.

- General will call is located at the ticket office (North end of Jones Stadium)
- Media will call is located at Gate 1
- Mississippi will call is located at Gate 3B
- Texas Tech will call (sports other than FB) is located at Gate 4C
- Texas Tech FB Squad will call is located at Gate 4D
- High school coaches pass gate is located at Gate 2
Gates To Jones SBC Stadium Open At 12:45 p.m.
The gates to Jones SBC Stadium will open at 12:45 p.m FANS ARE URGED TO ENTER THE STADIUM EARLY AS LINES WILL BE LONG DUE TO STADIUM CONSTRUCTION.
Jones SBC Stadium Security
Security at Jones SBC Stadium has been increased for the 2002 season to make Red Raider football games a safe and enjoyable experience. The following is a list of guidelines to remember on gameday.
- No video cameras, long lens still cameras, electronic equipment cases, backpacks, knapsacks, large bags, banners, fireworks, umbrellas, strollers, tripods, camera cases, alcoholic beverages, coolers, cans, bottles, wineskins, or foodstuffs may be carried into the stadium. Small American flags may be brought into the stadium only if they are NOT on a pole or small stick handle.
- All containers, including handbags and binocular cases, are subject to visual inspection. Patrons who refuse to allow visual inspection of contents will be denied entry to the stadium.
- Policy for stadium passouts remains the same, but patrons may not carry items into the stands upon re-entry.
- Smoking is prohibited within the stadium. Those patrons wishing to smoke must exit the stadium through one of the main gates and receive a handstamp for re-entry.
Red Raiders On The Air
Fans who plan on tailgating on Saturday afternoon can tune in their portable radios to the All Sports Radio Network on KKAM 1340 or FM 99.5. Countdown To Kickoff, hosted by Jack and Steve Dale will begin at 12:30 p.m. on KKAM and will lead up to the network pregame show that starts at 1:45. Following the All-Sports Radio Network coverage of the game, Red Raider Rewind will begin (approx. 6:30 p.m.) on KKAM. Red Raider Rewind is hosted by Jim G. and former Red Raider C.J. Johnson.
The game will also be broadcast on a regional TV basis by ABC.
PREGAME ACTIVITIES
Midnight Raiders
Join members of the Saddle Tramps in one of Texas Tech's oldest traditions, the wrapping of the Will Rogers statue. Midnight Raiders begins at 7 p.m. each Thursday night prior to home football games. Members of the Saddle Tramps wrap the statue with red crepe paper so that it is completely red for the final day of classes and for gameday. Once the statue is wrapped, the traditional bell circle is formed and all fans in attendance are able to participate. The Saddle Tramps along with other Tech students then tye red and black crepe paper all throughout campus to complete the event. The Will Rogers Statue is located next to Memorial Circle in the heart of the Texas Tech campus.
Texas Tech Alumni Association - Frazier Alumni Pavilion Pre-Game Reception
The Texas Tech Alumni Association will hold a pregame reception at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion (located across from Gate 1 of Jones SBC Stadium) beginning at 11:30 a.m. and will last until kickoff. Alumni Association members are free while guests are $5.
The Merket Alumni Center, located at the corner of University and 19th St., will open at 9 a.m. and will close at 2:30 p.m. The Tech Traditions Gift Shop will also be open for business during those hours.
Red Raider Club Pre-Game Reception
The Red Raider Club, the scholarship arm of Texas Tech Athletics, will host a pregame reception beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The reception will be hosted in the Red Raider Club tent next to the baseball clubhouse at Dan Law Field. The reception is open to all Red Raider Club members.
Raider Alley
Raider Alley is located southwest of the Frazier Alumni Pavilion and features live entertainment, merchandise booths, food vendors, face painting, interactive games and much more. Raider Alley will open at 11:30 a.m. with Bo Garza and Seth Walker providing the live entertainment.
RaiderGate
RaiderGate is the official tailgate party for the Texas Tech student body. RaiderGate has been moved this season to the R1 parking lot (15th and Detroit) and students must reserve spots in the SGA office prior to gameday. This weeks live entertainment will be provided by Django Walker beginning at 11:30 a.m. Future acts at RaiderGate include Cooder Graw, Cory Morrow and Great Divide.
Goin' Band From Raiderland - Stadium March
The Goin' Band From Raiderland will start its march to the stadium beginning at 1:45 p.m. The band will leave from the parking lot of the music building (located behind the Student Union) and will march down Boston Ave. before splitting into two bands at the ATC (Athletic Training Center). Fans are encouraged to lines the streets of Boston avenue for the parade beginning at 1:30 p.m.
TEXAS TECH VS. MISSISSIPPI, 2:30 p.m. Kickoff
Pre-Game Entertainment/Special Presentations
Texas Tech fans will witness a historical day as the 14th horse in Texas Tech history will be named in a special presentation with the Masked Rider beginning at 2:12 p.m. The official game ball will be delivered by representatives of the local Police, Fire, EMS, United Way and Red Cross agencies at 2:21 p.m. The Goin' Band From Raiderland will begin its traditional pregame show starting with the tunnel runs leading into Fight Raiders Fight. Following the Texas Tech Fight Song, a moment of silence will be observed for those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11th attacks.
Halftime
The Goin' Band From Raiderland will present its halftime show featuring the music of Gershwin. Following the Gershwin show, the Goin' Band will form a map of the United States while performing the music of America The Beautiful.
