Lady Raiders Defeat Texas-San Antonio in Women's NIT

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jia Perkins scored 19 points to lead No. 10 Texas Tech to a 76-48 victory Friday night over Texas-San Antonio in a first-round game of the preseason women's NIT.
The Lady Raiders took control late in the first half, fought off a charge midway through the second half and put things out of reach by scoring 16 of the game's final 18 points in their opener.
Alesha Robertson added 14 points for Tech, and Casey Jackson and Jolee Ayers-Curry had 11 apiece.
Lacy Mingee led Texas-San Antonio with 17 points. Kim Reed finished with 13 in the Roadrunners' first game.
A baseline shot by Robertson gave Tech a 52-33 lead with 10:22 remaining, but the Roadrunners fought back. Texas-San Antonio pulled to 60-46 with 5:38 mark but made only two free throws the rest of the way.
The Lady Raiders led 21-20 with 5:39 remaining in the first half then went on an 11-0 run to lead 32-20 at the break. Robertson had five free throws during the run.
