LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team is the first school and team in the Official College Sports Network (OCSN) to have its games webcasted live. The webcasts are part of the College Sports Pass.
The Lady Raiders had their first live webcast on Friday, Nov. 14 when they played Texas-San Antonio in the Preseason WNIT. Tech's game with Western Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 16 was also a live webcast.
"The opportunity to webcast some of our basketball games is really exciting," said head coach Marsha Sharp. "It gives our fans from coast to coast, and really world wide, the chance to follow Lady Raider basketball. I am so pleased that we are on the cutting edge of this exciting project."
Tech will have four more games available on live webcasting: UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 20 - 7 p.m.), California (Dec. 1 - 7 p.m.), Wyoming (Dec. 6 - 2 p.m.) and Pepperdine (Jan. 4 - 2 p.m.). If the Lady Raiders advance to the championship game of the Preseason WNIT and it is played in Lubbock, the game will not be available through webcasting as it will be a televised game. UCSB is also a member of the OCSN Network and its fans are encouraged to log on to www.texastech.com using their College Sports Pass subscription to watch the live webcast of the Lady Raiders and Gauchos on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. CST.
Fans should visit the front page of www.texastech.com to access the webcast that will only be available in a broadband-only format (225 kbps). The audio broadcast of the game is also available through the College Sports Pass as a separate event from the video webcast. Lady Raiders' live game audio will be available all season with the select games featuring a separate live video.
The College Sports Pass provides an exciting multimedia package offering Texas Tech fans an inside look into Red Raider athletics. The Pass features interviews from players and coaches as well as those who have been involved in Tech's success over the years. Other features include weekly and post-game press conferences, weekly coaches shows, live game audio and much more.
