Lady Raider Golf Opens Spring in California

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Lady Raider golf team begins spring play this morning at the Lady Aztec Invitational in Lake San Marcos, Calif. An 8 a.m. (PT) shotgun start will begin the tournament.
The 54-hole event will be played on the par-72, 5,905-yard Lake San Marcos Country Club. In addition to Texas Tech and host San Diego State, Cal Poly SLO, Colorado, Colorado State, CSU-Monterey Bay, CSU-Northridge, CSU-San Marcos, Kansas, McLennan, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Southwest Missouri State, Texas A&M-CC, UC-Riverside, Weber State, Wichita State and Wyoming make up the tournament field.
Megan Hull (Mansfield, Texas) leads the Lady Raiders after averaging 77.9 strokes per round in the fall. Jackie Ey (San Antonio, Texas), Kim Kolb (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Sheila Mendez (El Paso, Texas) and Hazel Tan (Sarasota, Fla.) make up the Texas Tech lineup for the event.
The tournament is the first three tournaments the Lady Raiders will play within the next three weeks. Tech will compete in the Central Regional Invitational in Parrish, Fla., Feb. 24-25, and the Texas A&M "Mo"morial in Houston, March 3-4.
