LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball team picked up its first national ranking of the 2003 season as the Red Raiders debuted at No. 22 in the Sports Weekly/ESPN Top 25 Baseball Coaches Poll on Monday.
The Texas Tech baseball program has now been nationally ranked in each of the last nine seasons. The 8-2 Red Raiders will put their national ranking to the test on Tuesday when they host a TCU squad that garnered 11 votes in this week's poll at 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at Dan Law Field.
Fans attending Tuesday's game can take advantage of the "Two For Tuesday" promotion in which fans can receive two tickets for the price of one.
Note:
Texas Tech joins Oklahoma and Texas as one of just three schools in the Big 12 to have all four major sports (football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball) ranked during the 2002-03 academic year.
