Red Raiders Tied in Sixth After Two Rounds

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech freshman Andrew Dresser (Carrollton, Texas/Creekview) fired rounds of 73 and 71 Monday to lead the Red Raiders at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La. Tech is tied in sixth place with Missouri and LSU with one round to play.
Mark Hull (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill) opened the event with a 76, but followed with a team-low 70 in the second round and stands in a 23rd-place tie. Brooks Kelly (Sierra Vista, Ariz./Buena) and Erik Stenman (Tampere, Finland) are tied in the 35th and 53rd places, respectively, while Brad Jacobson (Bryant, S.D./Hamlin) also is tied in 53rd place. Kelly posted rounds of 73 and 76, while Stenman followed his tournament-opening round of 74 with a 77. Jacobson shot 75 and 76.
SMU leads the tournament by four strokes over second-place Tulsa. The Mustangs shot 8-under as a team. Texas A&M is third, followed by Southern Miss and North Texas. Tournament host Louisiana-Lafayette and Baylor are tied in ninth place, while Texas-San Antonio, Kansas State, Rice, Colorado and Kansas round out the field.
Tulsa's David Inglis leads the tournament after shooting a 5-under 137 in the first two rounds.
Play resumes this morning with the final 18 holes.
