TOURNAMENT
- This was the third meeting between Texas and Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament. The teams split the previous two contests. In 2000, Texas took a 68-50 semifinal victory. The following season, Tech prevailed 71-58 in a second round matchup.
- This was the third championship game featuring the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds. In 1998, No. 1 Texas Tech defeated No. 3 Kansas, 71-53. In 2001, No. 3 Iowa State defeated No. 1 Oklahoma, 68-65.

- UT's 16 free throws tie for a championship game high.
- UT's 16 offensive rebounds are the second-highest in a championship game.
- UT's 29 defensive rebounds tie for the most in a championship game.
- The rebound margin of 11 (UT 45, TTU 34) is the most in a championship game.
TOURNAMENT - INDIVIDUAL
- Jia Perkins (TTU) has 23 career steals, tying for second all-time. Nicole Kubik (Nebraska, 1997-2000) holds the career mark with 30.
- Stacy Stephens (UT) has 76 career rebounds, ranking third all-time. Angie Welle (Iowa State, 1999-2002) is the career record-holder with 107.
- Stephens' 63 points in the tournament led all scorers. Her 39 rebounds also led the tournament. This is four years in a row that the same person has been leading scorer and rebounder (Edwina Brown, UT, 2000; Angie Welle, ISU, 2001-02).
- Stephens' 13.0 rebounding average is a tournament record.
TEXAS
- This is UT's 10th conference tournament championship overall (nine in the SWC).
- This is UT's third straight win over Tech.
- UT is now 5-2 against ranked opponents and 4-2 against Top 10 opponents.
- UT is 20-2 when outrebounding their opponents.
- This is only the fourth time UT has trailed at half. They are 2-2 in those games.
- Tech's 38 first-half points are the most given up by Texas in the first half this season.
- Jamie Carey has 16 double-figure scoring games.
- Heather Schreiber has 25 double-figure scoring games, 10 double-digit rebounding efforts and nine double-doubles.
- Stacy Stephens has 25 double-figure scoring games, 14 double-digit rebounding efforts and 13 double-doubles.

- Plenette Pierson's 17 points tonight give her 1,529 for her career, moving up to sixth place on the Tech all-time list.
- Erin Grant set a season and career high with 18 points. She also scored 16 points at Oklahoma on Jan. 15. In the first two meetings against UT this season, Grant totalled 13 points and one rebound. Tonight, she scored 18 points and grabbed four rebounds.
- Pierson has 25 double-figure scoring games.
- Jia Perkins has 30 double-figure scoring games.
- Grant has eight double-figure scoring games.

- Tonight's game: 10,717
- Previous all-time (Big Eight/SWC/Big 12) single-session attendance record: 10,310 (1989 - Texas vs. Arkansas)
- Previous Big 12 single-session and finals attendance record: 9,130 (2000 - Iowa State vs. Texas)
- The tournament total of 35,619 is a new record. The previous mark of 32,953 was set last year.
