LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech running back Preston Hartfield has signed a free agent deal with the Washington Redskins. Hartfield joins offensive lineman Rex Richards, linebacker Lawrence Flugence and defensive back Joselio Hanson as those who have signed free agent deals.

Hartfield, a native of Alvord, Texas, appeared in all 14 games last season for the Red Raiders. In 2002, he caught 25 passes for 271 yards for an average of 10.8 yards per reception, while scoring one touchdown.
