Texas Tech Announces 2004 Football Slate

LUBBOCK, Texas - Three regional non-conference games and a Big 12 Conference-opening game with Oklahoma kick off the 2004 Texas Tech Football schedule, which also features four of the first five conference games against perennial national powers.
The Red Raiders open the season at SMU (Sept. 4) and at New Mexico (Sept. 11). Tech opens the home season against TCU (Sept. 18). The Horned Frogs are back on the schedule for the first time since the final season of the Southwest Conference in 1995.
Following an open date (Sept. 25), Tech opens Big 12 play at Oklahoma (Oct. 2). Following the OU game, the Red Raiders host Nebraska (Oct. 9); play at Kansas (Oct. 16); host Texas (Oct. 23); and visit Kansas State (Oct. 30).
The Red Raiders finish the season with two of the final three games at home - Baylor (Nov. 6) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 20). Tech will face Texas A&M (Nov. 13) in College Station.
