DALLAS - The Big 12 Conference announced the roster for the Big 12 All-Star Team that will represent the United States at the 22nd World University Games women's basketball competition in Daegu, South Korea, Aug. 20-31, 2003.
Twelve student-athletes from nine schools will represent the Big 12 at the World University Games. Three schools elected not to send a representative due to conflicts with other USA Basketball competitions, foreign tours and class schedules. Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly will serve as head coach of the squad. He will be assisted by Cindy Stein, head coach at Missouri and Latoya Harris, assistant coach at Iowa State.
The All-Star squad includes eight members of the 2003 All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Team.
Heather Schreiber and Anissa Hastings are representatives from Texas' 2003 Final Four squad. Schreiber, a 6-2 junior forward, started all 35 games and was second on the team in both scoring and rebounding with 14.3 ppg and 8.2 rpg. She was a member of the All-Big 12 first team.
