LUBBOCK, Texas - Single-game tickets for the 2003 Texas Tech Football season go on sale Mon., Aug. 11, at 8:30 a.m. "Operation Sellout," a campaign to fill the stadium for the opening game against SMU, is the first single-game ticket available for Texas Tech's 2003 six-game home schedule.
All games with the exception of the Texas A&M game will be available to the general public on Aug. 11. The Texas Tech Athletic Department is offering Red Raider football fans an early jump on tickets for the Texas A&M game by purchasing either a $90 or $100 mini-pack depending on location. The mini-pack features tickets for both the SMU and A&M games and will be available when single-game tickets go on sale Aug. 11, providing the only opportunity other than a season ticket to purchase a Texas A&M ticket prior to Sept. 1. Texas A&M individual game tickets go on sale Mon., Sept. 1, at 8:30 a.m.
The Red Raiders open the season Aug. 30 with a 6 p.m. kickoff against SMU. Other home games include New Mexico (Sept. 6), Texas A&M (Oct. 4), Iowa State (Oct. 11), Colorado (Nov. 1) and Oklahoma (Nov. 22).
Season tickets for the upcoming season are available and will remain on sale through Fri., Aug. 29. For as little as $99, Texas Tech football fans can purchase 2003 season tickets, which includes the Texas A&M and Oklahoma games. All single-game tickets for the A&M game are $75, while the Oklahoma game tickets are $45.
"The season ticket for the 2003 football season is a good value to our fans," Gerald Myers, Texas Tech Director of Athletics, said. "We want fans to be able to enjoy as many Red Raider games as possible. Season tickets for good seats are going fast and we encourage all of our fans to help sell out Jones SBC Stadium for the first home game with SMU by getting their season tickets now."
In addition to the Texas A&M and Oklahoma single-game prices, single-game ticket prices range from $10-$50 for the SMU, New Mexico, Iowa State and Colorado games.
"Over the last several months, we have re-evaluated our ticket prices due to increased costs in scholarships," Myers said. "However, we continue to offer the best prices in the Big 12 Conference."
Tickets for the 2003 season are available by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 742-TECH (8324) or (888) GO-BIG-12.
