LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football team practiced Thursday afternoon for eight periods in shoulder pads and helmets under a rare cool and overcast day. Temperatures Thursday hovered around the 83-degree mark.
Following warm-ups, the team broke off to work on offensive and defensive drills for the first five periods, while devoting the last three periods to special teams, seven-on-seven and a team session.
The Red Raiders return to the practice fields southeast of Jones SBC Stadium Friday with the first of two practices beginning at 9 a.m. and the latter starting at 4:30 p.m. Friday's two-a-day workout is the last scheduled for the preseason.
Following a 9 a.m. practice Saturday, the team will host its annual Autograph Day at 7 p.m. on the turf of Jones SBC Stadium. Red Raider fans are encouraged to bring autograph memorabilia and cameras.
