LUBBOCK, Texas - Although preparations for the season opener against SMU have been ongoing, Texas Tech officially kicked off its game week schedule with a Sunday night workout on the turf of Jones SBC Stadium.
The Red Raiders devoted much of the first half of the hour and 15 minute workout to special teams, while working the offense and defense against scout teams the remainder of the session. The team dressed in shells.
Texas Tech opens the season against the Mustangs Sat., Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. at Jones SBC Stadium. For ticket information, contact the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office at (888) GO-BIG-12 or 742-TECH.
Practice Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 3:35 p.m. / Thursday's workout will be on the turf.
Weekly Press Conference: Head Coach Mike Leach and selected players will be available at the weekly press conference Mon., Aug. 25, in the JT King Room at 11 a.m.
Season Ticket Count: As of Friday, 19,100 season tickets have been sold for the 2003 season.
