Tech Eclipses 20,000 Season Ticket Mark

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office announced this afternoon that it had reached its goal of 20,000 season tickets and has sold 20,031 to date. Friday is the last day to purchase season tickets for the 2003 season.

The season ticket total is the highest since 1979, when Tech sold 22,000. The increase from last season's total of 12,594 is 57 percent and is the highest total during head coach Mike Leach's tenure.

Additionally, Tech has sold just over 40,000 tickets for the season opener this weekend at Jones SBC Stadium. Tickets can be purchased between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-5p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the ticket office, which is located in the north end of Jones SBC Stadium.
