Texas Tech Welcomes 2003 Red Raiders

Texas Tech head football coach Mike Leach welcomed 101 players to preseason camp Tuesday. The Red Raiders open the season Aug. 30 at Jones SBC Stadium against SMU.

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football coaching staff welcomed 101 players Tuesday as newcomers and varsity returnees reported for the start of preseason training camp. Among the group were 80 scholarship players and 21 walk-ons.

The Red Raiders will go through physicals and a team meeting tonight following a team dinner. Practice officially gets underway Wednesday with a 6:30 p.m. workout following a day of orientation and meetings.

Following is a list of practice times for the remainder of the week:

Wednesday, August 6	6:30 p.m.
Thursday, August 7	6:30 p.m.
Friday, August 8	6:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 9	3:30 p.m.
Sunday, August 10	3:30 p.m. (First day of full pads)
