Five More Added at End of Signing Period

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Track and Field announced the signing of five additional student-athletes at the end of the National Signing Period.
Keshima Starks, of Lancaster, Texas, has been added to the sprints/middle distance group. A standout at Lancaster High School, Starks placed second at the 2004 4A state meet in the 800M and was a member of the title-winning 4x200M and 4x400M relays. Starks has personal best of 2:14 in the 800M and 55.1 in the 400M.
Sabrina Taylor is a jumper from Lufkin, Texas. While attending Lufkin High, Taylor has personal bests of 19'-10.5" in the long jump and 39'-10.5" in the triple jump. She took first place at the 5A state meet in the long jump and placed fourth at the same meet in the triple jump.
Jhavonne Pope, a native of Putnam City, Okla., is a stand out at Putnam City High where her personal best in the 400M stands at 54.1
Asia Diaz is a distance runner from Naaman Forest, Texas. Her personal bests include a 2:18 in the 800M, a 4:48 in the 1500M and a 10:37 in the 3000M
Dermillo Wise signed as a transfer from Cloud Co. C.C. in Kansas. A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Wise was the 2004 NJCAA indoor champion in the pentathlon and the long jump. At that same indoor meet, Wise place third in the 60M hurdles and sixth in the triple jump. At the 2004 NJCAA outdoor championships, he placed sixth in the long jump. Wise's personal bests include 25'-0.5" in the long jump, 14.15 in the 110M hurdles and 51.13 in the 400M hurdles.
