It’s the second-to-last regular season meet for Tech
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team travels to Waco for the annual Michael Johnson Invitational at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium Friday and Saturday.

The USTFCCCA week four checkpoint rankings saw the Tech women move up to No. 6, while the men's side fell a few spots to No. 11.
Last Time Out
The Red Raiders were scattered across the country last weekend, going to four different meets in four cities. In Florida, at the Tom Jones Memorial, the women's 4x400 team set a new school record of 3:28.64, becoming the first women's quartet in school history to dip under the 3:29 mark. The previous Tech record of 3:29.49 had stood since 2004.
Over in California at the Mt. SAC Relays, Temitope Adeshina opened her season in the high jump with an NCAA leading mark of 1.95m (6-4 ¾) en route to the win. Staying on the west coast but over at the Bryan Clay Invite, Titus Kimaru set a new Tech record in the 3k steeplechase. Kimaru closed in at 8:18.26, taking down the 2016 time of 8:33.75 set by Bernard Keter.
In The Know
It will not be a full squad in Waco as most Red Raiders will compete next weekend's home meet – the final meet of the regular season. The pole vault squad will be full effect this weekend with Jackson Bragg, Sean Gribble and Sam Hurley on the men's side as Kashlee Dickinson represents the women. The throws crew will also have its entire squad in Waco.
Up Next
Tech will be back home next Thursday (Apr. 30) and Friday (May 1) to wrap up the regular season. The Red Raiders will also recognize their senior class.
