Men's Golf Finishes First Round Of Play

Lubbock, Texas - The No. 41 Texas Tech men's golf team shot a first round score of 296 at the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii, to end first round play in 17th place. As Tech begins second round play today, all that separates them from the top ten is a three-stroke margin.
Tech sophomores Andrew Dresser and William Haddrell are leading the way with first round scores of 70 and 74, respectively. Dresser finished the day in an 11th place tie and Haddrell finished in a 52nd place tie.Oscar Floren and Casey Jones ended first round play shooting 75 and 77, and tied for 64th and 85th ,respectively. Chris Pace rounds out the last of Tech's competitors with a 99th place tie, shooting a 79.
Tech will continue play on the Waikoloa Kings' Golf Course Thursday at noon (CT), and the 54-hole event will wrap up play Friday.
