LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team heads to Huntsville, Texas, this weekend, Feb. 20-21, to compete in three matches. The Lady Raiders open play against Sam Houston State at 8:30 a.m. Friday, and continue with a match against Louisiana Tech at 2 p.m. Tech will continue play against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Lady Raiders started the season with a win over North Texas, but have since had trouble on the road, falling to both Colorado State and Colorado last weekend.
"I feel like their confidence has increased in the sense that we were able to clear up this team's fear of loss," stated head coach Cari Groce. "With this weekend's matches and having lost, they were able to see a different reaction, one that included a ton of positive feedback, and I believe that will allow this team to now go out and just play for the love of the game."
The Lady Raiders' record for the spring is currently 1-2 and they are 0-1 in Big 12 Conference play.
