Ayers-Curry Named First Team Academic All-District VI

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women's basketball player senior Jolee Ayers-Curry was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District VI first team. Ayers-Curry was one of five student-athletes to receive this honor for District VI.
Ayers-Curry is joined on the team by Jamie Carey (Texas), Caton Hill (Oklahoma), Lana Lewis (Southern Miss) and Lindsay Maynard (Rice). All five student-athletes will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
In order to be nominated for Academic All-District and All-America honors, a player must be a starter or important reserve, must have a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and must have completed at least one full academic year at her institution.
Ayers-Curry, a native of Canyon, Texas, graduated cum laude in May 2003 with a degree in exercise and sports science with a 3.56 grade-point average. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in sport management and has a 4.00 GPA.
