LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football program's strength and conditioning arm will present a "Night of Champions" Sat., March 6, at the Athletic Training Center (ATC) adjacent to Jones SBC Stadium. The event will begin at 7 p.m. CDT.
"Night of Champions" is the pinnacle of the program's eight-week strength and conditioning program. Fans will have the opportunity to witness first-hand the activities that take place during a typical off-season for Red Raider football student-athletes.
The main events are broken into the three categories: bench press, squat and clean. The top lifters in each event will participate, while the remainder of the team will demonstrate other events such as tire flipping, boxing and other off-season training methods.
Admission is free and fans are asked to enter the ATC on the upper level. There will be several giveaways, and an autograph session will follow the event on the main floor of the ATC. Free parking will be available in the lot on the west side of Jones SBC Stadium. For more information, contact Jennifer Wylie at (806) 742-1195.
The Red Raiders officially begin preparations for the 2004 season with spring drills March 24. The annual Red-Black Game is scheduled for Sat., April 17, at 11 a.m. at Jones SBC Stadium.
