Dresser Ranks Third In Conference In Stroke Average

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 41 Texas Tech men's golf team earned top conference honors in a release today by the Big 12 Conference. Sophomore Andrew Dresser was Tech's top golfer, third in the conference with a stroke average of 71.08.
Dresser holds a 72.8 career stroke average with seven top-10 finishes. During the 2003 fall season, Dresser finished in the top five at three tournaments including a second-place finish at the Baylor Invitational with a score of 210.
Junior Shaun Melville and freshman Oscar Floren finished in the top 25 with averages of 73.22 and 73.25, respectively. Melville had a season low 217 at the Fresno Intercollegiate while Floren shot 217 at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate.
Sophomores William Haddrell and Casey Jones finished 32nd and 33rd, respectively, with strokes of 73.8 and 73.83 while Jonathan Lenz made the list with an average of 75.50.
The team will begin its spring season Feb. 13, when it heads to Waikoloa, Hawaii, to compete in the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate.
