Red Raider Golf Heads to Louisiana Classics

Lubbock, Texas - The No. 44-ranked men's golf team will compete in its second tournament of the spring season in Lafayette, La., at the 19th Annual Louisiana Classics. Tech will compete against 14 other teams, eight of which are ranked in the top 50.
Tech recently competed and placed 13th in the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate held at Waikoloa, Hawaii. Sophomore Andrew Dresser led the team with a final score of 213 to tie for 18th place.
Dresser leads the team this season with a 71.06 season-stroke average, followed by senior Brad Jacobson with 71.7. Dresser and Jacobson rank second and sixth, respectively, in the Big 12 in individual stroke averages.
Tech finished fourth last year at the Louisiana Classics with a score of 874. This year the Red Raiders will be competing against four other teams in the Big 12 Conference at the event including No. 31 Texas A&M and No. 34 ranked Kansas.
The 19th Annual Louisiana Classics will be hosted at the Oakbourne Country Club March 8-9. The 54-hole event will begin Monday morning with 36 holes and will wrap up with 18 holes Tuesday.
