Softball Defeats New Mexico In Day Two of Tournament

LUBBOCK, Texas - Erin Crawford allowed only three hits and pitched all seven innings to lift Texas Tech softball over New Mexico 5-3 in game three of the Mutual of Omaha Lady Raider Classic at Rocky Johnson Field in Lubbock, Texas.
The Lobos (14-8) would strike first in the top of the second inning when Ashley Shartzer walked to start the inning and was brought around to score on a single to give New Mexico at 1-0 led.
The Lady Raiders (8-15) would get on the board in the bottom of the second inning. Center fielder Natalie Enderlin led off the inning with a single and scored on a double by Brandy Moulin a batter later to give Tech a 1-0 lead.
Tech would extend its advantage in the third inning. Natalie Kula reached on a wild pitch strikeout and was followed by hits by Elyssa Sigala, Kelly Rhyne and Enderlin. During the inning, the Lady Raider would score three runs on three hits. The Lady Raiders would push their lead to 5-1 on an RBI double by Enderlin in the fifth inning.
Tech starter Erin Crawford (3-5) allowed only three hits while striking out four in her third complete game of the season.
The Mutual of Omaha Lady Raider Classic will continue today when Tech takes on Columbia at 2 p.m. and New Mexico at 6 p.m. Columbia and New Mexico will play at 4 p.m.
