LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Director of Athletics Gerald Myers announced today that the athletics department will not initiate a "No Pass Out" Policy for the 2004 football season. However, fans leaving the stadium at halftime will have to accommodate the same pregame security measures upon re-entry.
"We listened to our fans and felt it in the best interest of the fans not to install this policy at our home football games," Myers said. "We are confident that we will provide a fun and safe environment as we have done in the past. Our number one concern is the protection and enjoyment of our fans on game day and we will continue to ensure that they have a positive experience."
Additionally, the university and athletics department will take security precautions laid out on the university, Big 12 Conference and national levels before, during and after each game. Special gates will be marked for re-entry to the stadium, and only those gates will provide access to the stadium upon re-entry.
