- Texas Tech set a new school and Big 12 record with 10 stolen bases on the afternoon. Tech has stolen 10 bases in a game three times now (the last two coming against West Texas A&M on Feb. 10, 1995 and TCU on May 12, 1996). Kansas held the previous Big 12 record before today as the Jayhawks stole 10 bags against Oklahoma State in 2000.
- Dallas Braden picked up his second consecutive win today and improved to 3-3 on the year. In his last two starts he is 2-0 with a 2.13 ERA...allowed just nine hits, three earned runs and has struckout nine.
- Josh Haney finished the day 4-for-6 at the plate with five RBI marking the second time in his two-year career that he has had five RBI in a single game. He now has 14 multiple hit games this year along with 10 multiple RBI games.
- Cameron Blair matched his season best hitting streak at 12 games today...he hit in 12 straight games earlier this season.
- Corey Gerstner registered his first career save today as he pitched the final 3 1/3 allowing just four hits and no runs.
