LUBBOCK, Texas - Where else can you get a glimpse of the 2004 Red Raider Football Team, hear the famous Goin' Band From Raiderland and have a chance to win $10,000? The annual Red-Black Spring Game will offer each of those opportunities and more when festivities get underway Sat., April 17, at Jones SBC Stadium.
The 2004 edition of the Texas Tech Red Raiders will take the field at 11 a.m. to put the finishing touches on four weeks of spring practice in a controlled scrimmage on the turf of Jones SBC Stadium. The team will be split into two groups and the game will run approximately two hours.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony dedicating the new state-of-the-art Football Training Facility will kick off the day's events at 9:30 a.m. at the front of the building off of University Ave. and just southeast of the stadium. The annual Alumni Game, featuring Red Raider greats from the past, will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the Red-Black Game.
KLBK/KAMC-TV will sponsor a "Pass for Cash" at halftime of the Red-Black Game. Ten lucky contestants will get the chance to win $10,000 in cash by throwing a football at a designated target. Those wanting to register for the event must sign up for a KAMC Viewers Club Card at the game. Participants will be selected and announced prior to halftime.
Additionally, the ticket office in the north end of Jones SBC Stadium will be open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for those interested in purchasing season tickets. For more information on tickets for the 2004 football season, contact the ticket office at (806) 742-TECH or (888) GO-BIG-12.
