LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football coaching staff welcomed 105 players Tuesday as newcomers and varsity returnees reported for the start of preseason training camp. Among the group were 83 scholarship players and 22 walk-ons. Red Raider senior defensive end Adell Duckett was one of 23 seniors who checked in Tuesday, anxious to get a start on the 2004 season. "It's going to be a fun year and I have been looking forward to it," Tech senior defensive end Adell Duckett said. "This is the year you look forward to most of your career. We have some great JUCO transfers who I am excited to see play. It will be good to see some of the freshmen start their careers at Tech." Tech spring signees Graham Harrell of Ennis and Eric Morris of Shallowater were among the 24 signees who reported. Both are happy the wait is over and can't wait to get practice started. "I'm very excited about finally coming to camp," Morris said. "It's been a long process of getting recruited, and now I'm finally here on the college level. I am ready to compete in the Big 12 and see if I can make it with the big boys." "I'm excited camp is finally starting," Harrell added. "I have been looking forward to this since I signed here. I'm looking forward to starting practice and starting college." The Red Raiders will go through physicals and a team meeting tonight following a team dinner. Practice officially gets underway Wednesday with a 6:30 p.m. workout following a day of orientation and meetings.
