Women's Soccer Set to Scrimmage Midwestern State

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team will scrimmage Midwestern State on Sat., Aug. 21, at R.P. Fuller Stadium. This is the first meeting for the Red Raiders and the Lady Indians of Midwestern State. Match time has been set for 2 p.m. This will be the first test for the 2004 Red Raider squad. The 12 newcomers will join the 10 returnees and senior captain defender Allison Seifert on the field. Tech posted a conference record of 2-8 last season with victories over Kansas and Missouri and finished the 2003 season with an overall record of 3-13-1. After the pre-season match against Midwestern State, Red Raider soccer, along with the football and volleyball teams, will host Fan/Autograph Day at Jones SBC Stadium at 6:30 p.m. A limited number of posters and markers will be available, but Tech fans are encouraged to bring their own items to be autographed by members of each team. Fans are encouraged to park on the west side of Jones SBC Stadium and enter the stadium through the Southwest ramp near Gate 1. There will be no admission charge for the event.
