LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women's basketball student-athletes Cisti Greenwalt and Alesha Robertson will take part in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's Red Raider Reader Fair this Sat., Sept. 25, at Barnes and Noble. The Lady Raiders will read during story time starting at 11 a.m.
The Red Raider Readers gives a book to every child six months-five years old who comes to the TTUHSC pediatric clinic for their well child visit. The doctors also talk with the parents and emphasize the importance of reading aloud to a child every night and the impact this has on the development of their language and literacy skills.
Greenwalt and Robertson will help kickoff the week long fair which starts Sat., Sept. 25 and runs through Fri., Oct. 1. Barnes and Noble will be hosting the fair for the Red Raider Readers, giving a portion of the sales to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's Red Raider Reader program.
For more information about the book fair, please contact Libby Camp, assistant director for the Red Raider Readers, at 806-743-4481 ext. 246.
