Red Raiders Begin Spring Practice

Texas Tech held its first practice today in preparation for the 2005 Season Opener against New Mexico.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Head Coach Larry Hays and his 2005 Red Raiders will hit the diamond today for the first official practice of the spring season.

The Red Raiders will get things going at 2:15 p.m. today at Dan Law Field and the Red Raider baseball office reminds fans that all practices are open to the public.

Texas Tech is coming off a 40-21 mark last season including a third-place finish in the Big 12 regular-season. The 2004 Red Raiders finished in second place at the NCAA Atlanta Regional in what was the school's ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.

The 2005 Season Opener is just a three weeks away as Tech will battle the New Mexico Lobos at Dan Law Field on Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. Season Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling (806) 742-TECH or 1-888-GOBIG12.
