The No.28/30 Texas Tech men's golf team wrapped-up the Morris Williams in Austin, Texas, today with an 11th-place finish. The Red Raiders used second and third round scores of 305 to secure the Raiders finish among the top 15.
Junior Andrew Dresser (76-76-74-226) used a final round 74, his best round of the tournament, to move up two spots to finish tied for 28th individually. Following the junior was junior Nicolas Allain (80-75-75-230) who carded a third round 75 to secure his tie for 40th-place finish.
Rounding out Tech's competitors were sophomore Oscar Floren (77-75-79-231, t45th), junior Tyler Symons (76-79-77-232, t50th) and junior William Haddrell (78-82-81-241) in a tie for 73rd.
Tech wrapped up the two day event shooting a team score of 917, with its best round of 305 coming in the second and third rounds. Dresser had the Raiders' lowest round of a 74, followed by Allain and Floren who both carded rounds of 75.
Leading the 16-team field is No.6 Florida (288-282-302-872) in first followed by No.1 Oklahoma State (296-287-299-882) in second. Rounding out the top five were No.48 Tulsa (297-298-291-886, third), No.24 Texas (296-298-298-890, fourth) and SMU (301-294-293-894) in fifth.
The Red Raiders will be back in action this weekend at the Thunderbird Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., April 8-9.
