LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Director of Athletics Gerald Myers announced today that baseball assistant coach Travis Walden has resigned to pursue other interests.
Walden, who came to Texas Tech from Texas State, was in his second season as the team pitching coach. Walden coached two Major League Baseball draft picks last season and helped the Red Raiders to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Atlanta Regional.
"Travis has been an important part of our baseball program and we wish him well in his future endeavors," said Myers.
Walden's resignation is effective immediately and a permanent replacement will not be announced until the end of the season. Head Coach Larry Hays and volunteer assistant coach Brandon Roberson will take over the pitching duties.
