- Texas Tech picked up win No. 30 of the year and that gives the Red Raider baseball program 13 straight 30-plus win seasons.
- With three hits tonight, Joey Callender now has three-straight multiple hit games and a team-best 22 on the season. Callender is now batting .397 on the season with 47 RBI and 13 doubles.
- Junior right-hander Brian Wyatt picked up the win in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Three of Wyatt's five wins this year have come in the relief role.
- Texas Tech improved to 22-7 against non-conference opponents and is 2-0 against New Mexico State in 2005. The Red Raiders now lead the all-time series with NMSU 34-11.
