G'day! We started the day off by eating breakfast this morning at our hotel. We've had a great buffet in every hotel we've been in so far. I love omelettes, so that's what I get every morning. They cooked our bacon crisp "American style" especially for us. Everyone has treated us so well here in Australia.
We had a trip planned to the Australian Woolshed today. So that's where we headed after breakfast. It took us about 30 minutes to get there. We walked around a while in the souvenir shop before heading out to feed the kangaroos. There was food that you could buy to feed them. So we got some food and headed out. There were about 15 kangaroos wondering around. They would come up to you if they saw the food in your hand. Everyone jumped right to it, but I took some time to scope everything out. Finally, I held my hand out and fed one. It jumped up with its paw to try and make sure I wouldn't take the food away and I dropped the rest of it on the ground. I'm not fond of kangaroos, but I continued to get somewhat more comfortable around them. From there we watched a sheep show. They actually shaved one of the sheep in front of us. Then we watched a dog herd all the sheep together. It was a different experience for one thing, however, I had one bad experience today. I got mud on my new shoes while we were at the woolshed. I have to try to get it out with some soap or spray and wash.
Well, after leaving the woolshed, we went and got some food at the food court by our hotel and then I took a little nap.
We left for the game at 5:30 p.m. When we got there, everyone was so polite and excited for us to be there. It was a really big event for them. We played a good game. We had five players score in double figures, LaToya, Alesha, Chesley, Erin (Myrick) and me. It was our fourth game since we've been here and we have won all four games. We play our last game on Friday in Cairns.
After the game we went to a post-game function with the other team and the fans. There was food and drinks. Everyone mingled for a while then Coach Sharp had to talk in front of everyone. Soon after that we left for our hotel. We're all pretty tired after the game and I plan on getting some good rest before tomorrow, so I'll be leaving ya'll now.
Take care!
Erin Grant
