LUBBOCK, Texas - The Big 12 Conference announced Monday that TBS has selected Texas Tech's game with Texas for its 6 p.m. CT broadcast slot Sat., Oct. 28, from Jones AT&T Stadium. The game is the second for the Red Raiders on the network and fifth televised game overall this season.
The traditional meeting with the Longhorns has been televised annually since the 1990 season and this year's game is the second in the series on TBS (2004). Texas Tech has played on television four other times this season, including UTEP (CSTV), TCU (OLN), Texas A&M (ABC) and Missouri (TBS).
Before the teams meet next weekend, both face tough conference games on the road this weekend. The Red Raiders travel to Ames, Iowa, for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff against Iowa State on Saturday, while Texas and Nebraska square off at 11 a.m. on ABC.
Texas Tech is 4-3 overall and 1-2 in Big 12 play this season and is coming off of a 30-6 loss at Colorado last weekend. Texas is 6-1 and 3-0 on the season and has won five straight since dropping a 24-7 decision to top-ranked Ohio State two games into the season.
In addition to the Red Raiders' game against the Longhorns, other conference broadcasts for Oct. 28 are Oklahoma at Missouri (11 a.m., ABC) and Nebraska at Oklahoma State (2:30 p.m., ABC).
