The Game
Texas Tech plays its first exhibition game of the 2006-07 season on Tues., Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. against the Houston Jaguars. The Lady Raiders will face Athletes in Action Sun., Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in its final exhibition game before tipping off the season on Fri., Nov. 10, by hosting Texas-San Antonio at 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.
On the Air
The game is being televised on the Texas Tech Television Network (TTTN), locally and in surrounding areas on My Lubbock TV, with play-by-play by Drew Dougherty and Crystal Boles as the color analyst. The game can also be heard on the radio on the Texas Tech Sports Network as Ryan Hyatt calls the game.
The Lady Raiders
A new era in Lady Raider basketball begins on Tues., Oct. 31, as head coach Kristy Curry makes her debut on the Tech sidelines. Curry is just the fifth women's basketball coach in Tech history. Curry takes over a program that went 15-14 last season and returns nine letterwinners, including three starters. Among the letterwinners is senior Chesley Dabbs, who missed the 2005-06 campaign after tearing her ACL and medial meniscus in her left knee prior to the start of the season. Dabbs averaged 12.2. points and 3.6 rebounds as she started all 32 games in 2004-05. Tech's top returner from last season is senior Alesha Robertson, who scored 12.5 points and grabbed 6.7 boards in 29 games. Brooke Baughman returns for her final year after starting the last 13 games of 05-06. Rounding out the senior class is Patrice Edwards, who appeared in 11 games last season. The junior class consists of last year's starting center Erin Myrick, who averaged 7.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, Darrice Griffin and Tawanna Flowers. Griffin missed the first eight games of 05-06 as she recovered from ACL surgery, but saw action in the final 21 games and Flowers played in 27 games. Teddy Griffin and Tiny Henderson make up the sophomore class. Henderson played in 28 games as a freshman and Griffin made 11 appearances. Three freshmen complete the active 2006-07 roster with Raquel Christian, Jordan Murphree and invited walk-on Natalie Thomas. Tech also welcomes transfers Maddy Brown (Pittsburgh) and walk-on Kalee Davidson (UC Irvine). Both will sit out 06-07 due to NCAA transfer rules.

The Houston Jaguars is a team comprised of former collegiate players who travel throughout the United States and play universities.
Lady Raider Coaches
When Kristy Curry was hired as head coach, she put together one of the top coaching staffs in the country. Joining Curry on the bench this season are associate head coach Bill Brock and assistant coaches Kelly Curry and Shereka Wright. Brock comes to Tech after spending the last six seasons at Baylor. Curry arrived on the South Plains after spending the past seven years at Purdue. Wright, who was an All-American for Curry at Purdue and plays in the WNBA, is in her first year in the coaching profession.
A Look Ahead
Texas Tech will play its final exhibition game on Sun., Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. against Athletes in Action. The Lady Raiders will open the 2006-07 season by hosting Texas-San Antonio Fri., Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. Tech will travel to Houston Tues.., Nov. 14, for a 7 p.m. contest. Texas State will come to the United Spirit Arena Sun., Nov. 19, for a 2 p.m. game. The Lady Raiders will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii, Nov. 24-26, for the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic. Tech will play host Hawaii on Fri., Nov. 24, at 9:30 p.m. CST and either Arkansas or Denver on Sat., Nov. 25, at 3:10 p.m. CST. The Sun., Nov. 26, opponent will be determined by tournament play.
She's Back!
Senior Chesley Dabbs returns to the floor after missing the 2005-06 season after tearing her ACL and medial menicsus in her left knee during preseason workouts last year. Dabbs was an All-Big 12 second team selection in 2005 and averaged 12.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 32 games, in which she started all of them.

Senior Alesha Robertson was named preseason honorable mention All-Big 12 by the coaches.
Lady Raiders in the Polls
The Texas Tech Lady Raiders enter the 2006-07 season ranked 17th in the preseason top 25 poll by Street and Smith's.
500 Rebounds in Reach
Senior Alesha Robertson is nearing the 500 rebound mark. She enters the season with 480. Last season, Robertson reached the 1,000-scoring plateau and enters the year with 1,161 career points.
Degrees in Hand
Seniors Chesley Dabbs and Patrice Edwards have already received their degrees. Edwards graduated last May with a degree in human development and family studies, while Dabbs graduated with a triple major of accounting, finance and general business last August.
Home Sweet Home
Texas Tech has won 99 of its 110 games it has played at the United Spirit Arena for a .900 winning percentage. Tech has produced five perfect seasons at home 1999-00 (16-0), 1998-99 (14-0), 1995-96 (16-0), 1992-93 (15-0) and 1991-92 (11-0).
Winning Percentage By Class
The senior class is 64-30 (.681) and 31-17 (.646) in the Big 12. Chesley Dabbs, who redshirted last year, posts a 78-22 (.780) record and 35-13 (.729) in the conference. The junior class is 39-22 (.639) and 21-11 (.656) in the league, while the sophomore class is 15-14 (.517) and 9-7 (.563).
On the Tube
Texas Tech will have 17 regular-season games televised this season. The Lady Raiders will play on ESPN2 once, FSN four times, FSN SW once, CSTV once and the Texas Tech Television Network 10 times. On FSN, Tech will play at Oklahoma (Jan. 14), at Oklahoma State (Jan. 20), Oklahoma (Feb. 17), and at Texas (Feb. 24). Tech will play on FSN SW against Texas (Jan. 27) in Lubbock. Tech's game with Kansas State (Feb. 11) will be on ESPN2. The game at Kansas (Jan. 31) will be on CSTV on a taped delayed status. The Lady Raiders will have games against Texas-San Antonio (Nov. 10), Texas State (Nov. 19), Oral Roberts (Dec. 14), Furman (Dec. 21), at Baylor (Jan. 3), Oklahoma State (Jan. 6), Texas A&M (Jan. 10), Missouri (Jan. 17), Baylor (Feb. 7) and at Nebraska (Feb. 14) on the Texas Tech Television Network.

Lady Raider Basketball with Kristy Curry
Kristy Curry's weekly television show, Lady Raider Basketball with Kristy Curry, will be televised every Sunday starting Nov. 12. The show will air on FOX34 at 10:30 p.m. and My Lubbock TV at 11 p.m. during the football season and then at 10 p.m. on FOX34 and 10:30 p.m. on My Lubbock TV throughout the rest of the season. There will not be a show on Nov. 26 or Dec. 24.
The Kristy Curry Radio Show
The Kristy Curry Radio Show will be held each Monday starting Jan. 8 from 6-7 p.m. The show will air on KFYO-AM 790 and KKCL-FM 98.1 locally. The show will be held at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar located at 4th and Milwaukee.
