LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Elvis Moya as Director of Marketing and Promotions for Women's Basketball. Moya comes to Tech after spending the last two and a half years at Purdue University.
"We are extremely excited to have Elvis join our staff," said head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry. "Having gotten to know him while at Purdue, it was evident he was a Tech graduate by his love and passion for this university and community. He has a bright future in college athletics and we are so fortunate he has decided to join us back at his alma mater."
Moya, who is a native of Shamrock, Texas, will handle all marketing, promotions, advertising, corporate sponsorships for the women's basketball program, while coordinating the overall game day experience. The Kristy Curry television show and the Texas Tech Television Network for women's basketball also fall under his direction.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for me and I thank Coach Curry and her staff for their confidence," stated Moya. "I am thrilled to get back to Raiderland and look forward to getting to work."
Prior to coming to Lubbock, Moya spent the last two and a half years as the spirit coordinator and head cheer and mascot coach at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. He also served as the liaison between intercollegiate athletics and the university bands at Purdue. Before his stint at Purdue, he spent a year at Elmira College in New York as an administrative assistant and head cheer coach.
