- Today's game marked the second all-time meeting between Texas Tech and UNC Asheville. The Red Raiders lead the series 2-0.
- For the second time this season, James Leverton has picked up the game winning RBI in the last at-bat of the game to lift the Red Raiders to victory. Leverton was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the game against St. John's that gave the Red Raiders a 5-4 win over the Red Storm.
- Roger Kieschnick may have had his 13-game hit streak snapped in yesterday's game but he responded with a 3-for-5 night at the plate and scored the winning run. The freshman from Rockwall now has four three-hit games and 11 multiple-hit games this season.
- Freshman first baseman James Leverton has now posted four straight multiple-hit and multiple-RBI games. Leverton went 2-for-5 with two RBI, including the game winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth.
- AJ Ramos turned in a career-high seven innings of work in what was his second start of the season. He also set a new season-high with three strikeouts.
