RED RAIDERS GET FINAL NON-CONFERENCE TUNE-UP
The Texas Tech Red Raiders will get one final non-conference tune-up on Tuesday evening before opening Big 12 Conference play over the weekend against defending national champion Texas. The Red Raiders will meet the New Mexico State Aggies at the halfway mark as the game will be played in Roswell, N.M. at New Mexico Military Institute.
The Red Raiders enter Tuesday's game against the Aggies riding a three-game win streak after sweeping a weekend series at home against UNC Asheville. The three wins over UNCA boosted Tech's overall record to 15-6 and the Red Raiders will enter conference play with at least 15 wins for the fourth straight season. Tuesday's game against New Mexico State will also mark Tech's third straight midweek game/series on the road.
New Mexico State enters Tuesday's game after suffering a three-game sweep at home this past weekend to Loyola Marymount. The Lions outscored the Aggies 46-14 over three days, picking up 9-5, 17-3 and 20-6 wins. New Mexico State begins play in the WAC this season but does not open conference play until March 31 against Fresno State.
Texas Tech fans who plan on making the trip to Roswell for the game can only purchase tickets at the stadium upon arrival. Advance tickets for this game are not being sold through the New Mexico State Athletics Ticket office. The game can be heard live on the Texas Tech Sports Network with Mark Finkner calling the action beginning at 7:35 p.m. (CT). Due to the limitations of the press box at NMMI Field, gametracker (live statistics) for Tuesday's game will not be available.
