- Tonight's game marked the 47th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and New Mexico State and was Tech's first ever appearance in city of Roswell, N.M. The game was played at New Mexico Military Institute to help give the Aggies more exposure in the state of New Mexico, however, the crowd was heavily dominated by Red Raider fans.
- Roger Kieschnick and Tyler Reves continue their quest for the team lead in multiple-hit games as both players had multi-hit nights. Kieschnick and Reves share the team lead with 13 multi-hit games.
- Freshman left fielder Roger Kieschnick picked up his sixth multiple-RBI game of the season.
- The Tech offense finished the evening with 13 hits and has now totaled six-straight 10-plus hit games.
- Tech used a season-high eight pitchers in tonight's game and also issued a season-high 11 walks.
- Tonight's win over New Mexico State gives Texas Tech a six-game win streak over the Aggies.
