ALBUQUERQUE, N. M. - After scoring 26 runs in a doubleheader sweep over South Dakota State on Friday, the Texas Tech softball team offense could not maintain its pace on Saturday dropping a 5-1 decision to UC-Riverside at Lobo Field.
The Highlanders scored first on an unearned run in the first inning to take an early 1-0, but the Red Raider struck back tying the game on their own unearned run in the top of the second inning.
The score would be the only the team could muster on the day as they stranded nine baserunners in the contest.
Saturday's second game against UC-Riverside was started, but was cancelled in the second inning due to high winds and blowing sand at the venue.
Texas Tech softball is scheduled to conclude play at the 2006 Lobo Classic with a match-up against tournament-host New Mexico on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CST)
