Red Raiders Place Five on Lobo Classic All-Tournament Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - After winning three of four games and setting a school-record for home runs in a single game at the 2006 Lobo Classic, five Red Raiders have been named to the All-Tournament team for the outstanding performances at the event.
Senior Julie Hauck (pitcher), junior Ashley Parker (outfield), sophomores Whitney Riley (outfield) and Jennifer Corkin (catcher) join freshman Alex Watkins (designated player) on the team.
Hauck picked up two wins at the tournament, improving her overall record this season to 5-6 on the year. The Yukon, Okla., native allowed only two earned runs at the tournament to post a 1.75 ERA at the event.
Parker moved within one stolen base of the school record for stolen bases in second with three steals at the event, raising her season total this season to a perfect 25-for-25. The Lindale, Texas, native batted .412 at the event with seven hits in 17 at bats in addition to driving in three runs.
Riley was the team's leading hitter at the event batting .538 (7-for-13) and logged the first multiple home run game of her career when she slammed a pair of long balls in a 16-9 victory over South Dakota State. The South Lake, Texas, native is currently on a team-high and career-high nine game hitting streak.
Corkin snapped out of a slump at the plate in the tournament finale, doubling twice to help lift the Red Raiders to a 4-2 victory over event-host New Mexico.
Watkins posted the best tournament of her young Red Raider career at the event, starting three games and batting a .455 (5-for-11) clip with three RBI at the plate. The Big Spring, Texas, native connected on the first home run of her career against South Dakota State on March 17.
