- Today's game marked the fourth all-time meeting between Texas Tech and UNLV. The game was called after the top of the eighth inning due to travel arrangements by the Red Raiders.
- Winds at Earl Wilson Stadium were gusting between 35 and 45 miles
- Junior designated hitter Tyler Reves extended his current hit streak to six games with a two-single in the top of the first. The six-game streak is the longest of the season for Reves.
- Freshman left fielder Roger Kieschnick extended his Big 12 leading hit streak to 13 games when he reached on a single in the top of the first.
- Freshman first baseman James Leverton gave Tech a 3-0 lead in the top of the first when he connected on his third home run of the season. The home was his first since Louisiana-Monroe back on Feb. 5.
- Jason Seefeld added his second home run of the season in the top of the first. Seefeld's last home run came against Louisiana-Monroe on Feb. 5.
