- Today's game marked the 30th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Kansas State and the Red Raiders now lead the series 21-9 and 11-2 at Dan Law Field.
- Tonight's complete game marked the third of the season for Miles Morgan and he is the first Red Raider to pitch three complete games since Steve Gooch in 2003. Morgan also pushed his season strikeout number to 87 and is just 13 away from breaking into the Top 10 on Texas Tech's all-time single season list.
- Texas Tech has now won four straight games at Dan Law Field and three straight Big 12 contests. The Red Raiders upped their home record to 17-4 overall.
- Senior center fielder Brian Capps returned to the Tech lineup this evening after missing the last four games due to an injured oblique muscle in his right side. Capps went 2-for-3 on the evening and improved his season batting average to .398.
- Junior designated hitter Tyler Reves added his ninth multiple-RBI game of the season thanks to a two-RBI single in the bottom of the first.
- The Red Raiders improved to 20-1 when leading after the seventh inning. Tech's only loss of the season when leading after the seventh came in the series finale at Texas A&M on March 26.
- Matt Smith now has a career-high seven game hitting streak after picking up his first career triple in the bottom of the sixth.
- Joey Callender had his career long nine-game hit streak snapped tonight as he went 0-for-3 with a walk.
