Tech Men's Golf in Seventh Place After Round One

TEMPE, Ariz. - Freshman Santaigo fired a opening round 67 to pace the Texas Tech men's golf team on Saturday at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational. The Red Raiders sit in a tie for seventh place heading into Sunday's action.
After opening the day with a score of 33 front-nine at the ASU's Karsten Golf Course, senior Andrew Dresser fell off his sizzling pace to close the round with a 38 on the back-nine and end the day in a tie for 24th place with a round-total of 71.
Tech's leading scorer on the season, junior Oscar Floren, turned up in a tie for 40th after the first round with a score of 72, while freshman Jake Younan-Wise was only two shots back of Floren in a tie for 54th place with a 74.
Freshman Brandon Lakatta rounded out the Red Raider golfers at the event with a first-day 83.
