OFFENSE ANSWERS THE CALL
Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach challenged the Red Raider offense this past week after suffering a 12-3 setback last week at No. 20 TCU. The Red Raiders were held without a touchdown in that game for the first time since the 2000 season (56-3 loss to Nebraska).

RED RAIDER DEFENSE PITCHES SEVENTH SHUTOUT UNDER LEACH
The Texas Tech defense pitched its first shutout of the season and the seventh under head coach Mike Leach. The seven shutouts under Leach is the most by a Texas Tech coach since Dell Morgan (1941-50) recorded 20 during his tenure. Tech's last shutout came last season when the Red Raiders blanked the Baylor Bears 28-0 in Waco on Oct. 29.
HICKS RETURNS TO THE TECH LINEUP
Senior wide receiver Jarrett Hicks was granted a waiver by the NCAA on Friday morning that restored his eligibility and he was added to the Tech travel roster for tonight's game against Southeastern Louisiana. Hicks did not participate in Tech's first three games of the season (home vs. SMU and on the road at UTEP and TCU).
- Hicks saw his first action of the season on Tech's seventh possession of the first half and caught the first pass of that drive.
- Scored his first touchdown of the season on that same possession when he hauled in a six-yard TD pass from Harrell to give the Red Raiders a 41-0 lead. The touchdown was the 29th of his career.
- Currently ranks fourth on the Big 12 career TD receptions list with 29 and trails Oklahoma's Mark Clayton by two (31).
- Finished the game with three catches, 59 yards and one touchdown.
RED RAIDERS TIE STREAK FOR MOST HOME WINS
Texas Tech won its 11th-straight game at home tonight by posting a 62-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana. The 11-game streak ties the previous record set between the 1973 and 1974 seasons.
- Under Head Coach Mike Leach the Red Raiders are 32-7 at Jones AT&T Stadium (span of seven seasons) and 22-3 over the last five years.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
- Graham Harrell's first completion of the game was a 56-yard strike to Grant Walker and that marked his longest completion of the season. His previous high was a 45-yard pass to Danny Amendola against SMU in the season opener.
- Todd Walker scored Tech's first points of the game when he caught a nine-yard pass from Graham Harrell to put the Red Raiders ahead 6-0. The touchdown was the first by the Tech offense on a game-opening drive this season and was the quickest score by Tech since the Oklahoma game in 1999. Tech's TD tonight came at the 13:17 mark in the first quarter while the TD against Oklahoma in 1999 came at the 14:03 mark.
- Shannon Woods scored his second rushing touchdown of the season on Tech's second possession of the first quarter. Woods scampered 18-yards for the score that put Tech ahead 13-0.
- Senior DE Seth Nitschmann saw his first game action of the season at the start of Southeastern Louisiana's second drive of the first quarter. Nitschnmann missed all of last season due to a knee injury and missed the first three games of the 2006 season due to a nagging hamstring (last game action was in the 2004 Holiday Bowl win over California). He recorded his third career sack midway through the second quarter.
- Senior receiver Joel Filani picked up his third touchdown of the season when he scored on a five-yard pass from Harrell to put the Red Raiders up 20-0 in the first quarter. He later scored Tech's fourth touchdown of the game and his second to put the Red Raiders up 27-0. The multiple-TD game is the third of his career.
- Texas Tech scored 21 points in the first quarter marking the most points in a quarter by the Tech offense since scoring 22 last season in the fourth quarter at Baylor.
- Freshman DE Brandon Williams picked up his first career sack on a fourth down conversion attempt by SELU at the start of the second quarter.
- Freshman RB Baron Batch picked up his first career touchdown with 5:38 remaining in the first half. Batch scored on a 13-yard rush to give the Red Raiders a 34-0 lead.
- Senior DE Keyunta Dawson registered a sack and forced fumble with 4:04 remaining in the game to give him two sacks this season and 15.5 in his career.
- Chris Todd's first career touchdown pass came with 4:57 remaining in the third quarter and it went to L.A. Reed who subsequently scored his first career TD by hauling in the 22-yard pass.
- Junior receiver/punt returner Danny Amendola set a career-high with 133 punt return yards. His previous high was 103 yards set against TCU in 2004.
