Tech Wins in Sweep of Jacksonville

TAMPA, Fla. - For the third time this season, Texas Tech shut out its opponent with a three-game victory over Jacksonville at the USF Smoothie King Invitational. The win takes the Red Raiders to 6-2 on the season and brings their win streak to four matches. Tech downed the Dolphins in frames of 30-16, 30-26, 30-27.
The discrepancies between the hitting percentages of the squads left a clear advantage in favor of the Red Raiders, as Tech hit .202 compared to Jacksonville's .026. Three Raiders led the team in kills, with Amy Charlebois, Lindsey Louis, and Brittany Hughes tallying six each.
Holly Hicks led the team in assists for the second time this year as she posted 16 for the second-straight match. Team-assist leader Emily Ziegler added in 12. Amanda Hiller led the Raiders with 15 digs. Once again Tech had a strong blocking effort, with Alicia Ostmeyer assisting on 10 blocks.
