LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry announced today that senior guard Chesley Dabbs has decided to end her playing career for personal reasons but will stay involved with the Lady Raider basketball program this season.
"Chesley's well-being is our first and foremost concern," said Curry. "She will continue to be a part of our program."
The Plano, Texas, native averaged 9.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 29.8 minutes of play in 21 games this season. Dabbs redshirted last season after tearing her anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee prior to the start of the 2005-06 season. As a junior, she was an All-Big 12 second team selection in 2005 when she averaged 12.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 32 games.
