Live game blog will get underway at 5:30
5:30 PM (30 minutes until kickoff)
Tech takes on the Cyclones for Iowa State for this year's homecoming game. The Red Raiders will look to continue their dominance of Iowa State as they have won six of the seven total matchups including a 42-26 victory last year in Iowa. With a win, Tech will be 1-1 in Big 12 play. Iowa State is also in need of a Big 12 victory after losing its conference opener to Nebaska last weekend.
Tech is sporting all red today for the first time this season. This is their sixth jersey combination in as many games. Iowa State is wearing white tops with red pants.
5:50 PM (10 minutes until kickoff) Weather
Today's temperature if 88 degrees with winds blowing at 23 mph from the SE. Humidity is 30%.
6:00 PM (Coin Toss)
Iowa State wins the toss and elects to recieve. Tech will kickoff and defend the South endzone.
6:05 PM (12:05 left in 1st quarter) Tech's D off to good start
Tech's swarm defense forces Iowa State to punt on their first possession. The Red Raiders get the ball on their own 43-yard line.
6:09 PM (11:00 left in 1st quarter) Air Raid offense falters
Tech is held to three and out on its opening possession and are forced to punt. This marks the first time this season that the Red Raiders fail to score a touchdown on their opening drive.
6:13 PM (8:36 left in the 1st quarter) Swarm!
Tech's D forces Iowa State to punt. Danny Amendola returns the ball to Iowa State's 49-yard line. It appears that new defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeal has the Red Raider defense ready to play today.
6:17 PM (7:19 left in the first quarter) Harrell to Crabtee Connection
Graham Harrell hooks up with Michael Crabtree on a post route. Crabtree breaks a tackle a struts into the endzone for a 32-yard touchdown. The touchdown gives Crabtree 15 on the year, breaking the NCAA record for touchdown catches by a freshman.
6:25 PM (5:18 left in the 1st quarter) Crowd
Jones AT&T stadium is littered with empty seats for today's homecoming game. The student section is packed but their seems to be some open seats in the north endzone and at the top levels of the east side of the stadium. It seems surprising since Tech sold out its first to home games this season and it is homecoming weekend.
6:31 PM (2:42 left in the 1st quarter) Tech takes a 14-point lead
After a big punt return from Eric Morris, Tech drives the ball to Iowa State's goal line where Graham Harrell punches it in with a one-yard touchdown run. That ends a four-play, 47 yard scoring drive.
6:41 PM (:21 left in the 1st quarter) Big play
A 58-yard reception by Morris from Harrell puts Tech in scoring position. Crabtree finishes the job with a two yard TD catch from Harrell putting Tech ahead 21-0.
6:50 PM (13:24 left in the 2nd quarter) Tech D on lock down
Tech's Defense forces another Cyclone punt. So far Iowa State has only maneged 50 total yards and two first downs. Tech has the ball on its own 33-yard line.
6:55 PM (11:00 left in the 2nd quarter) Punt
Tech is forced to punt. Jonathan LaCour shanks the ball 31 yards to the Iowa State 42-yard line. First and ten, Iowa State.
7:00 PM (9:10 left in the 2nd quarter) Sack
On third down, Tech's Daniel Howard and Brandon Williams sack Iowa State's Bret Meyer for a four-yard loss and they are forced to punt. Tech gets the ball on its own 18-yard line, first and ten.
7:06 PM (7:30 left in the 2nd quarter) Tech's offense on cruise control The Red Raiders are moving the ball effectively right now. They are in Iowa State's territory after driving 47 yards on seven plays.
7:11 PM (5:20 left in the 2nd quarter) Woods fumbles
Iowa State catches a break after recovering a Shannon Woods on their own eight-yard line.
7:14 PM (5:09 left in the 2nd quarter) Tech's D scores
Iowa State gives the ball right back after Tech's Victor Hunter forces a fumble which is recovered by Darcel McBath. McBath runs 16 yards into the endzone to put Tech up 28-0. The last time a Tech player returned a fumble for a touchdown was Chris Hudler at Oklahoma State in 2005.
7:20 PM (3:28 left in the 2nd quarter) One more shot before halftime
Iowa State punts the ball to Tech's 15-yard line. The Red Raiders will try to get one more score before halftime.
7:24 PM (1:55 left in the 2nd quarter) Oops
Harrell hits Iowa State's James Smith right in the numbers for an interception. Smith returns it 29 yards to Tech's 20-yard line. The pick sets up a 30-yard field from Bret Culbertson to put the Cyclones on the board before the half. Tech leads 28-3.

Harrell - 23 passes for 19 completions, 244 yards and 2 touchdowns. 3 rushes for -14 yards and 1 touchdown.
Crabtree - 5 catches for 79 yards and 2 TDs.

Woods - 5 rushes for 31 yards, 2 catches for 10 yards.

7:44 PM (Halftime) Homecoming King and Queen Annouced
Cliff Fielden of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) fraternity and Brecklyn Hughes of Chi Omega sorority are the 2007 Texas Tech homecoming king and Queen. Congratulations to them both.
7:51 PM (Begining of 2nd Half) Kickoff return
Edward Britton has a big return for 58 yards putting Tech in good field position on the ISU 42-yard line.
8:00 PM (11:25 left in the 3rd quarter) 4th down failure
With fourth and goal on the ISU three-yard line, Harrell's throw to Woods falls incomplete and Tech turns the ball over.
8:08 PM (8:31 left in the 3rd quarter) ISU goes deep.
On third and ten, ISU's Meyer connects with his favorite target Todd Bylthe for a 39-yard gain to the TTU 45-yard line. 8:11 PM (6:59 left in the 3rd quarter) Tech's D holds
ISU's big play comes to no avail as they are forced to punt three plays later. The ball rolls into the endzone for a touchback.
8:17 PM Attendance
Tonight's announced attendance is 46,558. This is the first time this season Jones AT&T stadium has not been sold out.
8:36 PM (13:47 left in the game) Touchdown Tech.
Harrell hooks up with Danny Amendola for a 17 yard TD pass. The play ends an eight play, 81 yard touchdown drive. Tech leads 35-3.
8:43 PM (11:03 left in the game) Fumble!
ISU's Meyer lets a shotgun snap get by him. The ball is recovered by Tech's Bront Bird on the Iowa State 29-yard.
8:46 PM (9:24 left in the game) Harrell to Crabtree, again
The Red Raiders capitalize on the ISU turnover. Harrell hits Crabtree on a 15-yard slant for a touchdown. This is the third time the two have hooked up for a touchdown tonight. This is Crabtree's fifth three touchdown performance this season. He also tied the Big 12 single season touchdown reception record with 17. Tech leads 42-3.
9:03 PM (4:32 left in the game) ISU scores
The Cyclones drive 80 yards down the field and score their first touchdown of the game of a 5-yard Meyer rush. The score is now 42-10 with Tech still leading.
9:06 PM (4:10 left in the game) New QB
Taylor Potts has checked in under center and will try to lead Tech to another touchdown as they start from their own 40-yard line.
9:10 PM (2:56 left in the game) Potts is picked off
ISU's Jon Banks intercepts a throw from Potts and returns it eight yards to the TTU 49-yard line.
9:13 PM (:56 left in the game) Big play from ISU.
ISU's Meyer throws deep to Blythe for a 38-yard touchdown pass. The throw and catch capps off a five-play, 49 yard scoring drive.
